Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to George II: the landgrave of Hesse has sent his chief groom to inform Brunswick of the reasons why he cannot accept the sum offered. He sees himself obliged to dismiss his troops, who amount to 6,600. He has demanded that they be supported from the military chest. Brunswick considered agreeing, provided they are deployed in the defence of Hanover or with the army, but does not think this will satisfy the landgrave and refers it to the king. He has ordered Isenburg to Münden and Hamelin. Dated at Neuss. ff. 143, 144
