Holdernesse to Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick: the posts from Holland have been delayed by the presence of two French frigates. The king has anticipated Brunswick's request by sending him the English reinforcements. He should now be able to push forward, especially after having acquired Düsseldorf. The first division of the troops has set sail. The three infantry regiments are at Portsmouth and will sail in two days time, with the invalids to replace Brudenell's regiment at Emden. The king approves Brunswick's choice of Major von Hondstedt to receive the troops. Twelve battalions and some light cavalry are embarking immediately to harrass the French coast under General Bligh. He encloses some news from France. Dated at Whitehall. ff. 133-137
