Prince Ferdinand of Brunswick to Holdernesse: despite having beaten the enemy, he is still facing a far superior army. Two bridges across the Rhine are his only line of communication. He is too short of engineers and artillery to undertake sieges. After making necessary detachments, his army is only 30,000 strong. He need reinforcements of at least 10,000 men.
