Commissary Michael Hatton to Holdernesse: on arrival he found that the place of disembarkation had been fixed at 'Hatzum'. He and Colonel Webb sounded the river and found it too shallow. There is a practicable but poor landing place four miles below the town. He foresees great difficulty in landing the troops. Dated at Emden. ff. 39, 40
