The Royal Commission on Licensing was appointed by Royal Warrant on 30 September 1929 under the chairmanship of William Warrender, Baron Amulree, KGC, to consider changes in the law relating to the sale and supply of alchohol. The series consists
The Commission was established"to inquire into the working of the laws relating to the sale and supply of intoxicating liquors, and the social and economic aspects of the question, and to examine and report on proposals that may be made for amending the law in England and Wales in the public interest".
The report of the Commission (Cmd 3988) was presented to Parliament in December 1931, and the minutes of evidence were published by the Stationery Office. August 1931
