R Irvine to Holdernesse enclosing a note [SP 87/31/122] from Mr. Guepin, magistrate and owner of the ship on which De la Roche will take passage for St Eustache. He has been asked to verify a certificate given to De la Roche that he is a native of Guadeloupe. The ship, said to be serving the Dutch East India Company, is actually full of French troops. He expects De la Roche intends an attack on Cork or Guadeloupe. Dated at Flushing. ff. 260, 261
