R Irvine to Holdernesse: trials of the flat bottomed boats at Dunkirk. They are unable to sail to windward. The garrison is exercising at embarkations. Two frigates are on the stocks. Bassinond has visited England. Spying activities of Coilliot, mayor of Boulogne. Thurot's squadron has arrived at Gothenburg. Dated at Flushing. PS. on an accomplice of Coilliot, Wilson. Report that the French intend to use Ostend and Nieuwpoort in their invasion. ff. 211-213
