Description

R Irvine to Holdernesse: he offers his congratulations on the fall of Quebec. Thurot will attack in England or Scotland and then sail for Gothenburg to be joined by ships and men from Sweden. Kidnapping of Richard Burleigh to act as pilot. Events at Dunkirk. Details and names of those implicated in smuggling and spy-running in Folkestone and Dover. Bilanders at Ostend are loading the cannon for Dunkirk. Dated at Flushing. PS. that he has learnt that Thurot is returning to Dunkirk. ff. 204-206
