Description

Mr. J. H. Hill appointed Police Magistrate, Western District, replacing Mr. Hickson; related enclosures: includes a letter from Mundy to Walker forwarding the names of several candidates for the post - names of candidates: Mr. J. M. Aird [Planter, member of the Assembly, and a Justice of the Peace]; Mr. George Jackson [Storekeeper in town of St. George and a Justice of the Peace]; Mr. W. P. Sinclair [Planter, member of the Assembly, and a Justice of the Peace]; Mr. George Humphreys [merchant and in the Commission of the Peace]; Mr. Francis Hostin [Planter and a Justice of the Peace]; Mr. Stewart S. I. Davis [Barrister at Law, previous Acting Attorney General]; Mr. James Glean [in service of Colonial Revenue]; Mr. A. J. Rouget [member of the Assembly, previous Clerk to the Magistrates of the parish of St. Patricks]; Mr. A. K. Alexander [Justice of the Peace, member of Assembly]; and Mr. J. H. Hill [service in the Colonial Secretary's Office, Chief Clerk, Acting Police Magistrate and Coroner for the Western District].
