Boyd to Holdernesse: capture of a French post at 'Paphenmutz'. After five days of the armies facing each other across the Erft, the duke [Prince Ferdinand] resolved to march towards the Maas, reaching Wassenberg on the 25th. The enemy is believed to have marched back to Colgne. They await confirmation of the king of Prussia's victory over Daun [Hochkirch]. Boyd requests a secretary. Dated at headquarters at Wassenberg. ff. 37-39
