Description

Boyd to Holdernesse: the elector palatine has consented to let General Wangenheim's troops admit Düsseldorf on terms. Destructive acts by the French garrison, which never agreed to the capitulation. Deception in Brabant by a party of hussars and dragoons. The duke [of Marlborough] has visited Düsseldorf and has received a letter from Contades informing that he now commands, as Clermont has leave to go to Paris. Account of an inconclusive action at 'Beunsfeld'. Soubise's army has entered Hesse. Dated at headquarters at Neuss. ff. 30-34
