Dr Keech removed from post of assistant house surgeon, Kingston Hospital and Lunatic Asylum, for making false census return; Dr M Sterne appointed. Enclosed, numerous correspondence relating to inquiry resulting from complaint put forward by Dr Bowerbank on behalf of Elizabeth Fowles, of being improperly refused admission to hospital; Bowerbank states Fowles was Leech's lover, denounces him as improper person to hold medical appointment; inquiry found complaint unfounded. Governor forwarded Bowerbank's letter to Keech in case he wanted to use it in libel or slander case against Bowerbank.
