Amherst to Holdernesse: the Dutch have made so many difficulties that the landgrave now wishes to march the troops to the Elbe. The troops must march at the appointed time, and if he learns from Yorke that they cannot pass through the Netherlands then they will take the other route. The langrave has decided the troops will march rather than take boats down the Weser. He encloses a copy of his letter to Mr Münchausen in Hanover [SP 87/27/22]. Dated at Cassel. ff. 50-52
