Colonel I Durand to Holdernesse: he has delivered Holdernesse's letter to Prince Ferdinand and forwarded two for Major General Yorke. The prince thinks the French will have to detach troops from the Rhine to deal with the British force at Cancale. His council with his generals before attacking the French under Clermont at Rheinberg. Their garrison at Gelderen is now cut off from the army. Dated at headquarters at Clostern. ff. 42-45
