House of Assembly application for 1000 labourers from the United States and 500 liberated Africans. In the draft response, the Colonial Office replies with copies of correspondence between the Foreign Office and Colonial Office concerning the question of employing Free 'Negroes' and 'Persons of Color' from the United States in the British possessions.
