Cumberland to Newcastle: he has communicated the king's orders to Bathiani on the latter's taking his leave to go to Vienna. St Severin does not think it necessary to withdraw more French troops, as there are only 65 battalions left in the low countries. Arrangements for marching the German troops through the Netherlands; his admiration for them and for Sommerfeldt. He will start the withdrawal of British troops and requests transports for the purpose. He himself wishes to go to The Hague before returning to London. The prince of Orange's unease at the article of the Barrier, to which Cumberland has replied that he doubt Britain will incur any further expence. Dated at headquarters at Eindhoven.
