Newcastle to Cumberland: the king's approbation of Cumberland's actions. The alliance will be more strongly connected than ever. Somerfeldt has been sent directions for his march home. He encloses two letters from Bedford showing strong support in England for the return of the troops. On the advice of his brother [Henry Pelham] he has sent instructions to the lords justices to commence the reductions. If the French withdraw their troops from the low countries the king will send his home. He encloses copies of letters to the two plenitpotentiaries, Dayrolle and Bedford. Dated at Hanover. PS. on the Hessian and Wolfenbüttel troops. ff. 205-210
