- The petition dates to c. 1296 as the IPMs of Ellen la Zouche date from 20 August to 14 September 1296, and it is unlikely that the petition is much later than these (CIPM, vol. III, no.363). However, it should be noted that the inquisitions make no mention of any lands in these English counties.
