Description
Petitioners
Liege merchants.

King and council.
Nature of request
The merchants request remedy as many of them are utterly ruined by a loan that they made to the farmers of customs and subsidies in aid of the king for which they have not been paid, and have paid what has been demanded from them by the customers and controllers for wool taken to ports in England, but now they are wrongfully summoned to come before the king's council by Barry's suggestion and are impeached that they passed a sack and a half for a sack of wool for which many are adjudged to pay great sums, and this the merchants consider against reason.

People mentioned
Walter de Chiryngton (Chirrington)
Richard Barry.
Note
