Nature of request
The petitioners request the grant of the articles:Firstly they request the power to cause those suspected of lollardy or their maintainers be made to make recognisances to the king and that if they are found culpable then the barons of the Exchequer will receive the recognisances and execute them. They further request that these articles be proclaimed to the people. They also request that if the lollard suspects or their maintainers prove contumacious then the sheriff at the ordinary's certification will arrest them to compel them to appear before the ordinary and receive what the law of Holy Church demands.
Nature of endorsement
The king with the assent of the lords spiritual and temporal in parliament grants that the bill be sent into Chancery, and that the Chancellor have the power to make writs and letters patent under the great seal as often as necessary on the articles contained in the petition, or as the king is able to grant.

Note
Internal references to the provincial Constitutions of Archbishop Arundel date this petition to 1409 or later, while it presumably also dates from before the statute against Lollardy passed at the Leicester parliament of 1414.
