Merchants and other people of the realm of England.

Nature of request
The merchants and others request remedy and that the debts due to them be paid. The only record they have of the debts is in the rolls of the stewards and marshals, and they petition for redress at the Lincoln parliament, but following this, despite being ordered to produce the rolls the steward and marshal refused without special warrant from the king.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered by writ of the great seal to steward and marshal of the King's Household that they bring all their rolls from their time to the next parliament.

The petition is dated to 1302 by the entry in Rot. Parl. where it is dated on the basis of Ryley transcripts as coming from a file of this date (Vol. I, p.155a (no.8)).
