Wheteley requests that it be granted that he be restored to his tenements in South Wheatley and Sturton le Steeple, and enter by patent until the king's right is declared, as he was disseised of them by Knyght and he brought an assize of novel disseisin against him but was delayed because Knyght sold the tenements to Pole and are now in the king's hand by forfeiture.

The petition dates to 1388 as a commission was issued to enquire of the matter presumably in response to the petition on 10 August 1388, and the petition clearly postdates the forfeiture of de la Pole in January 1388 (CPR 1385-9, p.543).
