Nature of request
Robert Wake states that he had taken a messuage in Berwick upon Tweed for a year, which is now in the King's hand through the [forfeiture] of Peter Kymbriggeham, and asks that he and his heirs might have it at farm for ten years, as he plans to live in Berwick upon Tweed.
Nature of endorsement
He is to have the said messuage for a term of six years, for the farm it pays at present, provided that he finds security for the Sheriff of Berwick that he will live in it, either himself or through some other suitable Englishman, and that he will maintain it in as good an estate as it is at present, and pay his farm promptly to the King.
