Nature of request
Rhys ap Yeuan states that Roger de Mortimer and his ministers maliciously accused him of not arresting a man accused of homicide, and imprisoned him, and would not allow him to appear in court, but ransomed him at £20, which they had the King's ministers levy from his chattels. He requests a remedy, so that if he can be acquitted in court of the trespass, he may be discharged of the money.
Nature of endorsement
The Justiciar is to be ordered to inform himself of the cause of his capture and the form in which he obliged himself in £20: and he is to inform the King.
