Nature of request
Richard Vigrous asks that he may be granted the serjeanty of the West Ward in the shrievalty of Roxburgh, for his good service at the siege of Roxburgh castle and elsewhere.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege.He is to sue before the King's lieutenant in Scotland, for him to inquire whether he is suitable to hold such a bailiwick; and if he is found to be suitable, he is to be admitted as bailiff before all others, to hold at the King's will as long as he conducts himself in a good and faithful manner.
