John Veys and Catherine his wife, formerly the wife of Terry de la Brewer, burgess of Bruges in Flanders, states that in Edward I's time when he was in Flanders, her late husband lent heavily to the English, but that they are now refusing to honour their obligations on the grounds that they were drawn up overseas in Flanders, and thus they can have no recovery before justices. They request a remedy.
