Description
Petitioners
Executors of Aymer de Valence, Earl of Pembroke.
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
The executors of Aymer de Valence, Earl of Pembroke, state that William le Wyne held of him the manor of Larport near Hereford, and that the manor was taken into the King's hand for rebellion with the Earl of Hereford. In response to a petition from the Earl of Pembroke, in the parliament held at Westminster in the King's seventeenth year, the King recorded that William had died in his allegiance, and ordered an inquisition into from whom he held, so that justice might be done. The inquisition found that he held of the Earl of Pembroke, so the executors requested wardship of the manor and heir, but have never been able to have it. They ask that justice and reason be done to them.
Nature of endorsement
They are to show in his Chancery that they are the executors, and what was previously done in parliament at the suit of Aymer is to be examined: and when this has been examined and understood, the King is to take advise on what is to be done.
