Nature of request
The Abbot of Tewkesbury states that the King's bailiffs are refusing to pay tithes for the King's meadows in the parish of St James, Bristol, which the Abbot holds for his own use; and he requests a remedy for this. A previous petition on this subject was sent by the council to the Exchequer, for the Bishop of Bath, then Treasurer, to summon the Constable of Bristol to explain why he should not pay these tithes: but nothing was done about this.
Nature of endorsement
He is to go the Exchequer as before, and justice etc. is to be done to him there.
