Nature of request
William de Tissington states that when he was collector of the sixteenth in Derbyshire he was robbed by night of £120 of the King's money, and of everything that he had himself, and asks that he might be allowed to pay this sum in annual instalments in such a way that he is not completely ruined.
Nature of endorsement
The Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are to be ordered to inform themselves about the contents of the petition in the ways and means that seem best to them. And if they find that the contents of the petition are true, then they are to have instalments set for payment of the sum contained there at the King's pleasure, paying annually as much as he well can, saving his moderation.
