Nature of request
Nicholas Torny states that William Pynder, who feloniously killed his brother on the Wednesday in Easter week last, and was captured and imprisoned for this death, first in York gaol, and then in the Marshalsea, has now purchased a charter of pardon, on the false claim that he was at Berwick, whereas he was in York gaol at the time. Nicholas asks that he might be able to aver on the King's behalf that he was imprisoned in York gaol as he says.
