Nature of request
John de Trehampton requests a writ to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer to examine a bill he has, sealed with the seal of Roger de Northeburgh, Treasurer of the Wardrobe, for victuals taken from him for the use of Edward II, and to allow him that sum against the debts he owes the King from the time when he was Sheriff of Lincolnshire.
Nature of endorsement
The Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer are to be ordered that, when they have examined the bill mentioned by the petition, if they can establish that the debt is still due, then they are to have the said debt allowed in the debts which the said John owes at the Exchequer, receiving the bill etc.

John de Trehampton was Sheriff of Lincolnshire between 28 October 1334 and 21 April 1337, and between 4 November 1345 and 1 October 1348. This petition probably dates from after his earlier period of office.Roger de Northburgh was Keeper of the Wardrobe between 1 February 1316 and 1 May 1322.
