Nature of request
Ralph Trenewyth states that he sued an assize of novel disseisin against Stephen Trevysa, who had disseised him of two thirds of the vill of Trenoweth, before Robert Tresilian, justice of assize in Cornwall, and that during the assize Robert purchaced these lands by champerty, and ordered Ralph to give up his suit, which he did through fear of him. Robert then held them until he was attainted of treason, so that they are now in the King's hand as forfait. He asks that they might be restored to him.
