Mabel, widow of Nicholas Trymenel, complains that she was disseised of her manor of Moreton by John Trymenel, and that he has prevented her suit to recover it by various means, in collusion with Roger de Aylesbury, sheriff of Warwickshire, whose daughter he has married to his son. She requests justice and a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
With regard to the fact that the Sheriff is refusing to do his office as he ought, she is to complain before the justices before whom the assize is pending, and they will do justice to her.With regard to the goods carried off, she is to sue at common law.

Roger de Aylesbury was sheriff of Warwickshire between 4 February 1327 and 1 March 1328, and between 24 October 1330 and 3 February 1333. The petition and its response suggest that he is the current sheriff, so the petition must date from one of these periods.
