Nature of request
Request for remission of taxation or a new assessment because, as a result of a storm and the incursions of the sea, they cannot pay the fifteenth granted in the king's tenth year, or the costs for three footsoldiers.
Nature of endorsement
Coram rege et magno consilio.Certain people are to be appointed to inquire into the damages and losses they have suffered through the storm, and how and in what manner, and into the other circumstances touching etc., and when the inquisition has been returned, the King is to be advised to grant them remission of his grace, if it please him. And the demand made of them is to cease until next Pentecost, if it please the Chancellor.

Dated on the guard to 1337, with reference to CFR 1337-47 p.19, dated 1 June 1337. This assessment covers a number of towns, not Tilney only, and is said to be in response to their petition to the king and council in the last parliament: which would mean that this petition was presented to the parliament of March 1337.
