The original writ of novel disseisin was brought on the Tuesday after the feast of St Margaret in 12 Edward I (July 1284): the case was delayed was delayed until the December of that year (the eve of the Conception of Our Lady), and then received further delays. The likelihood, however, is that the petition was submitted at some point in 1285 or 1286.
