Nature of request
Hugh le Tayllur states that he was amerced by Solomon de Roucestre, then Justice in Eyre in Wiltshire, contrary to the warrant that Hugh had from the King. He requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
And Solomon states that it [might] be that the aforesaid Hugh was amerced by 12, and by his companions. And with regard to the writ, he says that the writs remain in the keeping of the chief clerk, and he does not remember it in the affeerment. And Hugh says that the aforesaid clerk handed over a certain calendar of all the writs, in which calendar the form of the aforesaid writ was contained, for which he ought to have stayed proceedings. And Solomon says that by means of the calendar, without the writ itself, he ought not to have stayed proceedings.They are to come for judgment on the day of All Souls, and Rochester is to be warned.
