Nature of request
John le Tannere states that he has been maliciously indicted before Robert de Welle of being in agreement with the [King's] enemies - of which he is not guilty. He asks the King to order the Sheriff of Gloucestershire to take sufficient security from him to answer to the King for the indictment, where and when it pleases the King, and to order Simon de Dryby to release his chattels in the meantime.
