Full description and record details

Reference
SC 8/75/3713
Date
[c. 1321-c. 1327]
Description
Petitioners
Sarah de Talworth, widow of John de Talworth.
Name(s)
de Talworth, Sarah
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Sarah, widow of John de Talworth and executrice of his testament, requests payment of a debt owed him by Edward I, which has never been paid although both the late King and the present King have often ordered it.
Nature of endorsement
The Treasurer, Barons and Chamberlains of the Exchequer are to be ordered that, when they have examined the writ previously sent to them for this business, they are further to make execution, according to the tenor of the same writ.
People mentioned
John de Talworth, husband of petitioner
[Edward I], King of England.
Note
This petition is clearly from the reign of Edward II, the French endorsement would suggest a date towards the end of that reign, almost certainly after 1321. It is clearly later than the related petition from John de Talworth (SC 8/75/3715), and the sum of money mentioned here does not tally with any of those contained in that petition.
