Nature of request
John de Sakevile makes five requests:1) He complains that he has been wrongly imprisoned for three and a half years, on the false claim of John de Ryngwude that he was refusing to render account for the time when he was bailiff of his churches of Hagbourne and Clyve: whereas John states that he was always ready to render account.2) He complains that John de Ryngwude stole his goods and chattels.3) He complains that when he came into court and auditors were appointed for the account, he asked to be released on mainprise, but that through procurement and favour the justices refused.4) He complains that the auditors ceased to audit the account because they found that John de Ryngwude owed him some money.5) He complains that when after half a year or more he petitioned the justices and asked again for the account to be audited, Lambert de Trikyngham, justice of the Bench, again refused him mainprise, through favour and procurement of the party: and he has been in prison ever since. He requests a remedy.
Nature of endorsement
He is to await the justices.To the second petition: he is to have a writ in Chancery concerning the goods and chattels etc. if he thinks it will help him.With regard to all the other petitions: the justices of the Bench are to be ordered by writ of Chancery to have John de Sakevile brought before them, and to do justice to him concerning the contents of the petitions; and John's complaint is to be recounted in the writ.
