Nature of request
Slegile requests that he can have a justice to enquire by the good people of Westmorland since Slegile has nothing for his sustenance, or that the default made by his father will be released, and that he be able to answer in chief. His father was impleaded for 100s. from and in Tebay by Cressingham, but knowing nothing of the plea made default, for which default the lands were seized by the king. Before his father could do anything he died in the king's service in Scotland.
Nature of endorsement
He should have a writ of Chancery to make the record come before the king.
