Note
The petition to which this copy of a writ was attached probably dates to 1336 as a lengthy entry in the close rolls by which the justices were ordered to justice to the petitioners was issued on 12 November 1336. However, this does not seem to closely relate to the contents of the petition, so that the order may represent a subsequent stage in this matter (CCR 1333-7, pp.720-1). The dating clause to the writ is unfortunately missing, but it must date to c. 1336, and perhaps may date to 1334 or 1335.
