Sewet and Burgh request that they be granted grace to them and their successors that 4 times a year in a suitable place within the town of Coventry that they can assemble and ordain and constitute certain statutes for a fraternity of chaplains, and that they are able to purchase lands, rents or tenements to the value of 10 marks within Warwickshire for the foundation and sustenance of the fraternity.

The guard dates this to c. 1392 on the basis of two references to William Sewet, one of the petitioners, in inquisitions ad quod damnum which are not connected to this particular petition (C143/421/7 & 18). Given that the dating is only impressionistic, it is assigned here to the last quarter of the fourteenth century.
