Nature of request
The abbot requests that certain men will be assigned to inquire of his and his church's right in moorland, turbary and pasture in Rawcliffe, and of pasture and rent in Eastoft of which the abbot's predecessor was disseised by the earl of Lincoln. The land has come into the king's hand by the earl of Lancaster's forfeiture, and although the abbot has sued by petition, nothing has been done by the treasurer and barons.1)

It seems to the council that it is just to enquire upon the contents in the petition if it pleases the king.2) Coram domino rege.
