Scot requests that he be restored to the bailiwick of the forestry of his hays of Bilhaugh and Birklands in Sherwood which the king granted to him for his service and the loss of his inheritance, and from which he has been ousted by Cromwell by the procurement of Mortimer.

He should come into Chancery and show his charter and hear his reasons, and let justice be done to him.

The petition dates to c. 1329 as Scot was replaced in his office by one Richard de Melburn on 1 December 1329 (CPR 1327-30, p.462). The petition cannot be later than late July 1331 as that was when Cromwell was removed as justice of the forest beyond the Trent (CFR 1327-37, p.268).
