Nature of request
The petitioner requests that certain people be assigned to enquire of his right in a house in the town of Scarborough, and that the escheator be ordered to certify the reason of the taking of the house into the king's hand, and that right be done to him. The house was given to the commonalty and was assigned to the use of the vicar in times past before the statute of mortmain but has been taken into the king's hand.
Nature of endorsement
Let a writ be ordered to the escheator that he enquire of the matters alleged in the petition and return this thing in Chancery, and let right be done.
