Burgesses of Scarborough.

Nature of request
The burgesses request remedy and that an allowance be made in their next farms. They paid the farm in the fifth year of Edward II's reign. However, the king came and took the town into the king's hand and demanded the farm and more so that they paid the farm twice in one year to their great damage.
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered by writ of Chancery to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer that when they have viewed the accounts of which the petition mentions, if they find that they have paid the farm twice then they are to make allowance to them.
