Nature of request
Sandford requests that the response made by Sandford to the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer be accepted, and that if his response be found truthful that he be discharged of the sum demanded from him and that he is not pursued for the debt since he was bound by the laws of the Church to make administration of the goods of Parvyng as he alleges. Sandford has made the administration of the goods of Parvyng but the treasurer and barons have demanded a sum from him for the keeping of two parts of the manor of Berwick which he was not aware of, and have not allowed his explanation and demanded payment.

Note
The petition dates to 1368 as a note on the dorse states that this is 'a bill of parliament in the 42nd year'. In addition the petition cannot have been earlier than 1360 as the petition refers to Christopher de Morisby as sheriff of Cumberland, and he was sheriff between March 1360 and December 1361, and November 1362 and November 1366 (List of sheriffs, p.26).
