Nature of request
1) Salesbury requests that it be ordained that he be paid the debt which the king owes to Hastings, and for horses lost at the battle of Stirling, and have restoration of horses arrested by Bampton for sums that Hastings was bound in.2) Salesbury requests that he and 12 valets be aided in their robes and the arrears of their wages as they reside in Berwick at the king's command, and that he be granted the lands of Maxwell and le Seker for his service to the king and his father in the wars of Wales and Scotland.1)
Nature of endorsement
Let it be ordered to the keeper and chamberlain of Berwick that Salesbury is not to be molested by reason of the debts which the king owes to Hastinges. And if the horses of the petitioner by the reason are arrested in the meantime they should be delivered.2) Let it be ordered to the chamberlain that he should account with the petitioner from the time that he stood in the king's service in those parts, and he should make a bill in the form of a debt for the restoration of the horses and of the other things owed to him.
