People of Salford wapentake in Lancashire.

Nature of request
The people request remedy be ordained for them as Massey and other Cheshiremen came and chased large numbers of their livestock into Cheshire, and none of them have anything in the power of the king to be distrained to answer them except within Cheshire.
Nature of endorsement
Each person harmed is to have a writ of trespass against the trespassers to be pleaded in the county in which the trespass was done.

The petition has been dated on the guard to 1311 on the basis that this was a year when the eve of the feast of St Matthew was a Tuesday. The same occurs in 1395 or 1406, though the hand of the petition may suggest that it must be assigned to 1311.
