Nature of request
Rypple requests that the king will grant justices in the county of Kent to enquire of the truth of his complaint. He shows that his brother gave a messuage and land to la Frude for life, and following the death of his brother, nephew and la Frude he re-entered the land. Seynt Clere and Serre have entered the messuage and carried many things away.

Note
There is no internal evidence to date this petition, though on the guard it has been tentatively dated to 1290. A date in the late thirteenth or early fourteenth centuries would seem most plausible given the general appearance of the petition and the writing style employed.
